This morning, 'cause I mentioned it yesterday, I watched The Long Kiss Goodnight. It's wrong that I now want to write a set-in-the-future fic with B.B. from Kill Bill and Caitlyn Caine working together as mini-assassins. Very wrong, indeed.

...

Right? Right?!

*grumbles* I need to win the lottery so that I have time to write all the fic I want.

EDIT: You know all those old CDs I brought back from my parents's house with me? Well, I keep finding new stuff I don't remember recording on CD on them (today, I found a Jessica Simpson song on one ... blech), and one of the songs I found and have no idea where it came from was a Spuffy mix somebody must have done right at the beginning of Buffy's sixth season that was this pretty intrumental with Spike and Buffy dialogue cut in between, ending with the "Every night, I save you" from Spike.

I seriously need to stop listening to it, because I alternate between the happy hopefulness I felt back then and the urge to go to Noxon's and Fury's houses and hit them both with large metal shovels.

No, it's not. I wrote my Day After Tomorrow fic with BB getting trained to be an assassin because Vernita Green's daughter would be coming after her when they grew up.

So little Caitlyn growing up to be an assassin too makes sense.

Not only that, I'm pretty sure you wrote it that way before QT announced that that was basically going to be the plot of the Kill Bill: Volume 3 he'd like to make in 15-20 years. *fanboys all over you*

Wow. I hadn't heard that announcement.

Once again my media ESP taps into the cool shit before it's cool!

Dude, I think that would have to be, like, the best fanfic crossover ever.

*wibble* Someone made a vid with the tragic longing looks of Spuffy to the theme from Ghost, with the sad dialogue and THAT BIT OF DIALOGUE in there too. It's so sad and makes me so wobbly inside.

Incidentally, what causes the urge to hit Noxon and Fury with shovels?

Do I really have to have a reason?

(Actually, it's that I blame them for everything I hate about how the show turned out. It's not all their fault, but they've both been asshat-y enough to deserve it.)

[identity profile] laurelin-kit.livejournal.com 2004-09-17 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahhh. What about it didn't you like? Other than the fact that Buffy ceased to be a character and instead became a concept. Because that's what makes me balk about a lot of the stuff in Six and Seven.

[identity profile] apocalypsos.livejournal.com 2004-09-17 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, I absolutely adored BtVS, but the list of things I loathed about that show could take up a whole post. (Which I'm now thinking of writing. Bugger all.)

It's funny, when I last watched some of season seven (haven't seen every episode yet), my brain was all "Whee! It's Buffy! I don't understand why people hate this season!" But now as I look back, I keep trying to figure out where Buffy went and who was this strange thing in her place that did not have anything left of the Buffy from earlier seasons. She was hypocritical, didn't accept anything, drew away from everyone and speechified everything.

Tell me about it. I never really liked Buffy as much as I liked everybody else -- but then, I inevitably hate the main character of most shows I fangirl and adore the sidekicks -- but they lost me pretty much by the end of the sixth season. (Of course, I was following along on TWoP and the like, but still.)

I'm slowly loving A:tS better. I really don't want to, because Buffy was first in my exposure and chronologically, but damn. The story arc. Gah. Spuffy was good, though. Most of it. Not Spike/conceptual!Buffy. Spike/actual!Buffy in season six.
Gyah. I hope that made sense, my head is filled with cotton, I swear. It sounds good before I say it.

the rasputine "transylvanian concubine" track is one of my favourite things to listen to, but...I don't know the buffy track you're talking about. I just thought I'd post something here, it's been a while : )

I thought of you the other day, I caught the tail end of something in which Daryl Hannah (I shit you not) plays an assassin....I can't remember the name of it but I thought "trollprincess would love this"
