Not mention the fact that having a trio of white blondes on the cover of the TV Guide doesn't represent the diversity that Heroes is known for.

Seconded. I adore the fact that it's a multiracial, multicultural cast, since it lends a sense of realism to the proceedings. I like knowing that the writers understand that if you're going to make new superpowers a global problem, or even a strictly American problem, you still have to understand that the world is made up of people of every shape, size, and color.

And seriously, this isn't the writers' faults, or the actors' faults. Someone in charge of advertising the show is hauling out Kristen (usually grouped with Ali and Hayden) without realizing:

a.) People in VM's very small audience, Hollywood, and critics' circles are the only people who know who the hell Kristen Bell is.
b.) When you put three pretty blonde girls on a magazine cover, who are you trying to reach? Straight guys. And trust me, straight guys are watching Heroes already. Really.
c.) The audience for Veronica Mars loved it to pieces and was loyal as hell, but was also small enough to collectively fit comfortably into your average overhead compartment.

I can't see why they put Kristen on the cover as she is only popular with cult TV fans. Heroes is NOT a cult show, and she isn't going to draw in a mainstream audience.

Exactly. The audiences for Veronica Mars and Heroes don't intersect quite THAT much.

The thing is, I'm not saying that Kristen doesn't deserve the attention that the advertising will lead to. My problem is, why does she deserve it over all of the other new characters they're bringing in? Heroes has always been more about making names out of actors who don't have them than it's ever been about flashing around the big-name stars that do show up.
