Garnet/Dagger from Final Fantasy IX.

First of all, because she was strong. There were never any doubts in her mind about what she had to do--she had to be loyal to the woman who raised her. Then she had to take the throne of Alexandria; no denial, no whining.

When she DID break, and my God, if you've ever played the game, who WOULDN'T? -- She was still with the others, all the way. And when she pulled herself together, it was all her. Her moment, not Zidane's. Like any True Love, he inspired her, but she was the one who pulled herself back from the brink.

And at the end, well, hell. She'd earned her moment of vulnerability.

Other: Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg. Need I say more?
