Okay, that's it.

Tell me something awesome about a woman you love in any fandom. Wax poetic. I want to hear people talk about what they love about female characters. And try to pick female characters or women in RPF who haven't already gotten love so we can spread it around.

And no bashing other people's comments!

You know what? I'm picking Boo. Yeah, okay, she's a very tiny woman. Who cares? She's silly and fun and adorable, and looking at an icon of her always makes me feel better, and she learns how to be brave right before our eyes. I heart that so much that I really wish I had the time to rewatch Monsters Inc. before I leave for work, but I don't, damn it.

Now you go. :)

EDIT: Guys, if you want to do more than one character, go nuts. The more, the merrier, right? \o/

My all time favorite character in comics is Mary Jane Watson Parker. MJ for short.

While reading Spidey, Peter Parker is who I was, MJ is who I wanted to be. Self assured, intelligent, kick ass, awesome. Of the two Parkers, MJ was the stronger one, even if her husband was the one with superpowers.

She could stare down Venom and take out the Chameleon with a baseball bat and still be unsure about herself because she didn't believe her husband needed her. She was Peter's strenght, his closest confidant and his partner in almost every sense of the word.

Brand New Day might have ruined Amazing Spider-Man, but pre-BND MJ will always be awesome to me.

There is very little about MJ that is not awesome. One of my favorite scenes is in the Inferno crossover where, without any superhero help whatsoever, she organizes the staff and customers of a small retail store into a defensive demon-fighting force. Granted, the demons exploded with one good hit but still, rock.

I loved that scene, one of my faves though, is when she was kidnapped by Jonathan Cesar. Rather than play the dutible victim, waiting for her husband to come save her, she keeps trying to escape. And she does, just in time to save her husband's life. Coming in shooting a gun (even though she doesn't really know how to use one), she manages to use it to scare off Styx and Stone, giving Peter a chance to escape from the trap the two guys caught him in.
