apocalypsos: (boo misbehave)

Okay, that's it.

Tell me something awesome about a woman you love in any fandom. Wax poetic. I want to hear people talk about what they love about female characters. And try to pick female characters or women in RPF who haven't already gotten love so we can spread it around.

And no bashing other people's comments!

You know what? I'm picking Boo. Yeah, okay, she's a very tiny woman. Who cares? She's silly and fun and adorable, and looking at an icon of her always makes me feel better, and she learns how to be brave right before our eyes. I heart that so much that I really wish I had the time to rewatch Monsters Inc. before I leave for work, but I don't, damn it.

Now you go. :)

EDIT: Guys, if you want to do more than one character, go nuts. The more, the merrier, right? \o/

Oh, wow. I'm so late to the party, but this is an awesome post and I can't let another page go by without a mention of Lynda Day from Press Gang.

She was my, and many of my friends', idol as a teenager and young 20 something. She was driven, tough, neurotic, caring, sarcastic, funny, cruel, intelligent and fantastic. In other words, an incredibly well-rounded teenaged female character. She was everything I wanted to be and occasionally still wish to be. Stephen Moffat has my eternal love and goodwill for creating Lynda Day.

Also, JJ from Criminal Minds. I love all the women on Criminal Minds, but what I love most about JJ is her quiet competency. She's good at her job and gets it done quietly and efficiently. And more importantly, she sees her job as important and doesn't have a secret yearning for a more glamorous role in the team. And can I give a massive nod to Criminal Minds for allowing the women on the show to have friendships free of bitchiness and competition. It's refreshing.

How did I not know that Stephen Moffat created Press Gang?

I adored that show, and especially Lynda. She was so determined and smart and generally fantastic.
