Woohoo!

-- Clay Aiken's having a baby. With a woman. Who's supposedly twenty years older than he is. *blinks* Uh, good for him, I guess. Although there is absolutely nothing in that story that makes any attempt whatsoever to squash the gay rumors. Not even a little bit.

-- I got out of work early because they wanted to send some of us home and offered to let us take a vacation day for today. Well, hell, with that kind of an offer, why say no?

-- Grapevine student with top grades won't be valedictorian -- Aw, that's no fair.

-- A U.S. Marine in Iraq has been removed from duty amid complaints that he was handing out coins with Bible verses at an American checkpoint, the military said Thursday. *sigh*

EDIT: Wait, wait, wait. I know I'm supposed to be all, "Oh, those contestants have been so busy!" but all I'm getting out of Cody's update is, "THERE'S GOING TO BE A CENTER STAGE 2?!"

And now that I think about it I could swear I already heard about it and yet Cody's in it! ACTING! This can only be terribly fucking amusing.

I have my priorities fucking STRAIGHT, y'all. \o/

That story about the girl not being 'allowed' to be valedictorian makes me so deeply angry...I worked for over a decade in gifted education and in all that time not a damn thing has changed. I had a friend from Australia who said they called this kind of thing "cutting down the tall poppies"--I guess so the rest of the garden looks neat and tidy. All four years in a row. Because my GOD, why would anyone want to miss out on PROM?

Unbelievably retarded. Can't even imagine how discouraging it must be for the girl.
