Some of my emergency brain pain equipment is bread, Gatordade, cold packs to the neck (yes, neck), salty snacks (Funyons, for example) and mindless TV and sitting up.
For the last two, turn on some familar comedy (low volume) you don't have to really pay attention to and sit up in a comfy chair with your head tilted back. Close your eyes. And the cold pack on the neck.
