Someone I know summed up Colin Powell like this, which I pretty much agree with.
Say that I have a job in a factory somewhere and the boss calls me into his office one day and says he wants me to kill a couple of the guys on the line. To make matters worse, I know the guys he wants me to kill are sleeping with the boss's wife. But he's the boss so I have to follow orders.
At that point...well, you know, I'd probably quit my job. Because quitting your job is a lot more acceptable than killing innocent people. If ordinary Americans are morally conscious enough to comprehend this principle, then one would think the fucking Secretary of State could comprehend it too.
