Well, kind of. I've already done about 3500 words of the novel, and the challenge of getting to 50K in 30 days is long past for me (my personal best is 50K in 4 days).
So strict NaNo? Nah. My goal is to get back to writing words every single day, and be a cheerleader for the other people in my writing group who are also trying to rediscover their groove.
My novel-in-progress is actually got me pretty inspired. It's a steampunk, noir-type mystery with a (female) structural engineering professor at a poor college and the head of the local Thieves Guild (there's a whole long back story about how the college uses the guild to get supplies).
It's the first original work I've tried in five years.
Me!
