I find the idea that I'm responsible for anyone else's choices, or that others are responsible for mine, abhorrent.
And I find the conservative belief that the moon is made of green cheese equally abhorrent.
What? You say conservatives don't believe the moon is made of green cheese? But...but...Michael Moore and Greg Palast told me that all conservatives, without exception, believe the moon is made of green cheese, and they wouldn't lie, would they?
Just out of curiosity, where have you done your reading on the subject? Because even if the above-named liberals had told me that conservatives believe the moon is made of green cheese, they still couldn't have sold me a worse bill of goods about conservatism than you have obviously been sold about socialism. So, I say again: are you getting your information about socialism from socialists, or are you getting it from Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly?
I also rather like the idea that I'm an adult and not a child that needs the state to act as my nanny.
So do actualy socialists. Have you ever actually spoken to a socialist? Or do you just take Cal Thomas' and Walter Williams' word for it what socialists believe? If so, I offer no apologies for the Orwell quote, any more than I would for saying the sky is blue.
