Isn't that just the way?

I feel like crap and could desperately use a lie-in so of COURSE my first ninety days (and therefore my acquisition of my sick days) aren't done for another two and a half months.

The only thing I can hope for is that I somehow find a way to keep busy today to keep myself distracted from the fact that I have absolutely zero energy and nothing I've eaten since yesterday has done anything to put a dent in that. And that's probably not going to pan out because I still don't have access to two of the programs I need to do my job and without them the only thing I have left to do is alphabetize mail, of which there isn't that much to alphabetize. It's about as much fun as it sounds.

I'm gonna end up getting a chocolate banana espresso drink from Sheetz and I bet even THAT won't knock some energy into me. *sigh*

Remember that whole got-so-shitfaced-Saturday-my-parents-had-to-pick-me-up thing?

Earlier tonight, when I call their house ...

Dad: Hello?
Me: Hi, Dad.
Dad: Who is this?
Me: Uh, Jennifer?
Dad: Jennifer who? *muffled laughter*
Me: ... your daughter?
Dad: That can't be it. Because the only Jennifer I know has her hair sticking straight up --
Me: ... oh, right. That happened sometime when I was writhing on Jess's couch and puking.
Dad: *trying not to giggle ... yeah, giggle* I think my favorite part was when I opened the door to your apartment and you shoved past and slammed the door in my face.
Me: Hey, I remember that part!
Dad: *finally cracks and dies laughing*

Heh. I amused my dad, at least. *snickers*
