I seriously get the impression that some people want a president who doesn't actually look or act like they should be president. I feel like Bush would be fun at a party, but the guy who's fun at a party doesn't deserve to be president.
It's like the teleprompter thing. They make fun of Obama for using a teleprompter -- of reading the speech off something that makes it easier for him to engage the audience. I can't decide if they'd really prefer him to read it off paper or if they're really dim enough to want him to memorize HOUR-LONG SPEECHES.
Maybe they don't realise his speeches go longer than the sound bites they pick up on the news.
Considering they're Fox News junkies who probably get fed four or five minutes of a speech in sentence fragments and figure that's enough to understand he's a socialist communist fascist Muslim pagan jaywalker, I don't doubt that they can't focus their attention on a speech that lasts longer than they can go through a can of PBR.

The ability to a) read, b) stick to a well thought out speech, and c) sound as if he understands the content, isn't a prerequisite for the job?
