Because I need constant amusement, that's why.
And the winner of the ficlet of their choice for getting the closest guess to how many pens and notebooks are currently in my purse is stephani673! She guessed 16 pens and 2 notebooks and I actually have 18 pens (all but one of which are Pilot G-2s, my weapon of choice) and three notebooks.
That total doesn't include five highlighters, six mechanical pencils, two White-Out pens, a binder of my current WIPs, my Grand Prize Winner manuscript, a puzzle magazine, my ereader, my netbook, the power cord for my netbook, two MP3 players, and my cell phone.
... why, yes, my purse IS ginormous.

I already knew I was going to be in a foul mood when I got to work, but then I actually got there and Debbie Downer would not stop complaining. And asking progressively stupider questions. (I have been working there for a shorter amount of time than this woman -- how the hell does she not know basic goddamn information like where the PDF of the formulary is located or what it means when you can't find a drug in it? *headdesk*)
So, yeah. It was heartening to be able to check my email and keep getting nice comments, so thank you. :D

Meanwhile, my brother is talking about moving to Arkansas.
Why Arkansas? Because his work can transfer him there, and because there's a girl he knows there.
I'm all for cheering him on. He's the same age I was when I finally said, "Yeah, I've got to move out of here," and left our parents' house for DC. I really think he could use the independence, honestly.
I will admit I'm still a bit "... Arkansas? Really?" about the whole thing, but he only just started talking about it today, so God only knows if he'll go through with it in the long run.
