I don't just blame the parents, I blame today's movie theaters. When the 'rents bring the baby in, why doesn't the guy taking the tickets tell them that they aren't allowed to bring a baby into the theater and offer a refund for their tickets? I'm old enough to remember fondly a far-off magical time when movie theaters assumed the 'rents would hire a babysitter before having a night at the movies, and if someone was dumb enough to show up with a baby, would turn them away. But they want the money from the (overpriced) tickets, so they let them in. In the end it bites them on the butt, because I used to go to a LOT of movies, and after several years of increasingly bad experiences, I don't go anymore. I know a lot of people who don't go to the movies anymore.
