I remember this from my NaNoWriMo experience--the way the plot explodes and all these little extra characters rear their little heads after the first 10,000 words or so. At the time, I just kept writing and allowed them to do whatever they were going to do. But if I was going to do it again, I wonder if I shouldn't rather bash them back underground with a great big mallet. I added a writer's resource page to Mystic Savage this weekend.
