completely off topic...
Is the past tense of smite, smitten? Smitten seems too cute of a word.
How strange it sounds "I was smitten with boils by God."
Maybe smote is correct "Alas God smote me with huge pimples."
Or smited. "God must hate me, he smited me with ingrown toenails."
This question came up while sitting at coffee with friends. Sadly nobody seemed to have a definite answer. Any thoughts?
