If there's one thing I've learned from watching Bend It Like Beckham, it's that Jonathan Rhys Meyers should not be allowed to run in airports. I haven't seen that much arm-flailing since I dropped my Raggedy Andy doll off a second-story porch.

EDIT: I seriously need to pick up this soundtrack today. Except for the Spice Girls songs, I have weird kooky love for every song on it.

I think it should just be a general rule that he's not allowed in films wherein he is expected to portray sporty, athletic or otherwise buff characters. It was the first thing I ever saw him in, and my only impression was of a weedy, slightly inbred-looking pale boy who looked like he'd never played even a game of table tennis in his life. Great actor, but everyone has their limits.

Liekomigosh!!1!, I was thinking the exact same thing during that scene, while trying to suppress a delighted squee at his all-encompassing dorkiness.

But yeah, Jonathan Rhys Meyers is the best, even while wearing training suits and glaring in a cross-eyed fashion.
