My brain is filled with crackfic. It's like my brain's swimming in a pool of maple syrup.
You know what
spnfic_podcast makes me want to do? It makes me want to get a couple of little boys and make them read Gremlins. Really, if anybody reads that, it needs to be adorable little boys, and the only ones I know in real life live in Boston.
I think I accidentally got somebody to want to watch Project Runway yesterday at work. This girl I work with asked why I took overtime this upcoming Thursday (even though they'll probably call it off on me anyway), and I said that I didn't want to take the first day before or after a shift (which left out Tuesday and Friday) and I didn't want to take the chance of missing first-run PR. She hadn't heard of it before, and when I described it to her she spazzed out about how cool it sounded. Heh. I'm free advertising. ;)
Let's kill time. Tell me what your favorite movie is, and why you love it, and why other people should watch it. And BE HONEST. Yes, even if it's something stupid and embarrassing like Joe Dirt.

Al of them are funny and have great quotes and have scenes that are fun to act out. Er, I suck at telling people why they should watch something too.

oh oh, also scrooged. it's not a holiday season unless carol kane ko's bill murray with a toaster.

And it's not Christmas, but in my family, we have to wach Home for the Holidays at Thanksgiving and cringe in horror, because every single one of the characters is somebody in the family. It's terrifying.

Ooooooooooh... we watched this every single year at my elementary school. This has not soured the awesomeness of the movie one bit, but sadly I don't have a copy.

Though The Princess Bride runs a close second because of all of the quotable lines.

Why I love it: Oooh man. Girl's soccer and cultural crossover and showing off scars and an awesome wedding scene and...uh,I'll just stop listing scenes now. Jonathan Rhys-Myers's presence is also a big plus.
Why others should watch it: See all of the above plus JRM being a total spaz at the end.

*giggles* That man runs like a Muppet falling down a flight of stairs.

Second: Boondock Saints. Because there's sexy Irish brothers who are clearly in love with each other, and it's HOT, and there's also lots of violence and blood and I'm such a bad, bad person but it touches all my primal fascinations and whoo. It's love.

Clue comes a close third to ID and Sneakers, though.

Why?
Take Hugo Weaving, Guy Pearce, and Terrence Stamp. Add lame' dresses and disco. Also a bus. Stir.
*hugs her DVD*

Because it's Scorsese first of all. And Ray Liotta and Robert DeNiro are amazing in it, but Joe Pesci is FANTASTIC. The way the scenes are shot, the use of music (dude, "Layla" and "Sunshine of My Love" and "Monkey Man"), Liotta's narration, the action, not to mention the fact that it's a true story.
Serenity is my second favorite movie, but I don't even feel like I need to say why people should watch it. Because Joss Whedon made a Firefly movie, that's why.

OK... *sigh* I can't pick just one.
Memento, for marvelously interwoven, non-sequential modern-day noir that gets downright chilling as it progresses.
The Shawshank Redemption, for dramatic impact and sheer epic scope. Plus being one of the first movies to make me nearly bawl at the end.
V for Vendetta, for Natalie Portman, Hugo Weaving's voice, hard-edged social vision, and an all-too-believable view of a totalitarian future.
Real Genius, for glorious witty comedy which is sadly lacking in most more recent farces.
And The Incredibles, because at heart I'm a superhero fanboy and it handles every facet of that brilliantly.
Lost in Translation
Bah, messed that up, let's try again!
Muppet Treasure Island. I know every word. It's a movie of amazing grace and beauty and Kermit.
Peter Pan, live action version with Jeremy Sumpter and Jason Isaacs. YES. OMG.
and on the more serious side of things, Black Hawk Down and Stand By Me.

also i can never answer the question about what my favorite movie is. or my favorite book, song, or band. Or food. It just CHANGES too much.
Though I DID jsut watch Van Helsing last night for the first time and his hair BUGGED ME. It was all clean and feathered. I would expect greasy nasty hair and maybe some dirt on his face? A couple of scars? Hugh is a good looking guy but throw on some dirt and scars and whoo...
PLUS! They got Aragorn's hair looking nice and nasty, easily duplicated for Van Helsing!
The Bloopers are hilarious.
The Prophecy

That and I never get tired of seeing bedhead Johnny Depp sitting on an old couch and forlornly eating Doritos.

2) The Godfather.
In my head, this requires no explanation.

If you have not seen it, I can not recommend it more.

ps it's a film about a bunch of people going to the party to end their senior year.

Also, Shawshank Redemption, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, and Thomas Crown Affair (Pierce Brosnan!).
