*whimpers some more* It's so quiet.

Except for the "City Confidential" about Dungeons and Dragons dorks killing one of their stepfathers. Sheesh.

Anyway, the good news -- my MP3 CD player still works. \o/

The bad news -- the Zen took pretty much all of my music with it. I can survive on Pandora at home, but when I go to the movies tomorrow and maybe the mall and Starbucks afterwards, I need new music or I'll start to twitch.

So, this is where I beg. Anybody got any good music they could YSI my way? *bats eyelashes*

What I like: Er, I can't really point to a specific band or a genre of music. I like songs for atmosphere, the things I can picture when I close my eyes and listen to them. Let's see ... Dance music with good beats. My latest additions to my dance mix -- "Caught Up" by Usher, "Sexy Back", the Pussycat Dolls, and yes, I realize they're dorky and popular, and no, I don't care, because if it's something that's fun to dance to, I like it. Indian dance music is FABULOUS. Hard rock that sounds like the kind of stuff that would make a great ass-kicking vid soundtrack, but not too loud and harsh -- I loathe System of the Down, for example. Instrumental songs, film scores, or songs with lyrics not in English with spooky or dark moods -- they make for great writing music. I'm not a HUGE fan of country music, particularly drippy love songs, but the twangy, "We're wearing cowboy boots drinking longnecks in a bar with our buddies! WOOHOO!" kind of songs can be fun. Oh, and speaking of slow songs, I don't like sap, I like pretty. "Konstantine" and "How To Save a Life" are some good ones.

Oh, God, I sound so picky. *headdesk*

*snuggles up to friends list*

*takes cue from icon, rests head on your cleavage and gives you great big puppy dog eyes*

Gosh, what qualifications! I don't know if I'd ever be able to pin down what I like - I either do or I don't. But hmmmm *eyes music library* Foo Fighters? Good non-harsh hard rock. Return of the King score? Sarah MacLachlan? (PRETTY!) KANE? Do you have Kane? Total dance in your seat country. And I don't even like country.

Anything pinging you?

Why is it, if someone who plays D&D or video games kills someone; the headline is "Gaming Dork Kills someone"; but if they have any other hobby, it never comes up?

You never see "Chess player kills mother" or "stamp collector murders whole family."

As a group, gamers are no more violent than any other; and far less violent than your average high school or college football players.

Don't get me wrong. There are some nutcase gamers out there; but nutcases exist in every segment of society.

I can't concieve of living without music, so.

This is the text file of every CD I own - which is over 500.

This is the text file of every mp3 I have on my computer - which totals over 10 GB.

Tell me what you want, and it shall be yours.

Offer, er. Also open to others reading this, within reason.

[identity profile] apocalypsos.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I said as soon as it came up. They spend the whole episode talking about the whole thing like it gave them the idea or something. Er, NO.

[identity profile] exsequar.livejournal.com 2006-08-17 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL. I could not agree more.

I marvel at your SORTING BY TIME. Mine's just one big mess spread over two harddrives. Granted, I have folders for Artist that I have more than, say, ten songs of, but I stopped sorting new stuff into those folders when I had to start using the other drive.

A bunch of songs I recently uploaded: here. You'll probably like the Aurora and the Country Joe.

And some of my Eurodance/pop that I recently uploaded, which are pretty fun:

Gigi D'Agostino - Con Te Partiro (ft. Andrea Bocelli)
DJ Carpi - La Figlia Della Natura (radio edit)
Nordic Stars - Crying in the Rain
Elena Paparizou - Me Theloun Ki Alloi
Funky G - Ludo Ludo

If I think of any more I'll upload them. I have a lot of non-English stuff.

Heh, I'm... a bit anal, yes. Though I do also have the "Download temp" folder, which is where everything gets stashed before it gets sorted. And things can live in that folder for quite a long time. But then I sit down and go "...I need to add things to my ipod", and then while I'm doing that, everything gets renamed, checked to make sure they have complete ID3 tags, and sorted into the right folder.

...yeah.

These are a few songs by Spoon. They've been featured on Veronica Mars quite a bit.

Aw, honey... how can I resist puppy eyes?

Here's my uploaded music folder. It's tragically small, because I asked Servage to move me to a faster cluster, and they confiscated all my mp3s. Boo. I have no idea if you'll like any of this stuff, it's a real hodge-podge, but feel free to help yourself ;)

This contains stuff from a film score that has conversation in Korean with bits of dance music with a heavy beat and other bits with haunting, orchestral tunes. There might even be some rock in there.
