Today's unpopular fannish opinion.

So it seems Stargate SG-1 was cancelled.

I currently own the first seasons of Dead Like Me and Arrested Development (both of which I need to buy the rest of) and the entire runs of Firefly and Jake 2.0 (which I have AVI files for because I don't even think there's a DVD set yet, DAMN IT), both of which lasted less than a season.

The first link to an online petition I see for a show that ran for ten years is going to result in my inner fangirl grinding her teeth down to the gums.

You put the WORD in
You put the WORD out
You put the WORD in
and then you shake it all about

You do the WORDY-GURDY and you turn yourself about
that's what it's all about!

Cupid, man. I have still not forgiven ABC for cupid.
Fox for Firefly.
Sci-Fi for the Invisible Man.

These fans are flipping out about a show that's run for a decade and still has a sequel?!

Plus FOX for Wonderfalls.

*cuddles his DVDs*

Oh, god, yes. *clings to Wonderfalls*

Cupid. Amen.

And Now and Again, for that heinous cliffhanger ending.

Cupid! I loved that show! It was so witty and zany.

I still blame CBS for cancelling Now & Again on a cliffhanger.
And NBC for Medical Investigation.

Why do networks never recognize good tv? *woe*

Observe Stargate fandom for any length of time and you will be able to see that there are a scary number of people there for whom Stargate is the main thing they have in life. Remembering the amount of psychotic behaviour when Michael Shanks took his year off, I'm expecting a lot of excess now that the news of cancellation is out.
