Random stuff

-- Did I mention that when I went to Philly the other day and we stopped at Cracker Barrel I bought one of those huge round lollipops? God knows there's no way in hell I'm finishing it, but I'm definitely opening it later to give it a whirl. :)

-- I miss my laptop. *sniffle* Has anybody else ever shipped theirs back for repair? How long did it take for it to get back? *stares mournfully out the window in search of the FedEx truck*

-- I've got Pulse in my DVD player and Smirnoffs in my fridge. And yet what have I been doing? I've been going through Harry Potter links on the Fandom Wiki laughing my ass off. (Which somehow led me to excerpts of Cassandra Claire's "original" novel. In completely unrelated news, I'm not published yet.)

-- I have to run to the store and the post office but I also don't want to change, which I'd have to since I'm wearing my "I Like Chick Flicks" shirt and nothing underneath it. Decisions, decisions.

-- Part of the reason I donated blood yesterday (aside from, you know, the whole good-cause thing) was that the blood drive was organized by work and we got entered into a drawing to get an extra personal day out of it. I never win a damn thing but I'd seriously appreciate winning this one, if only because I would so take off the first day I had available to me, no matter what.

-- Sponsor me for the Blogathon, y'all. (I'm listed under "fuck i'm good (just ask me)", for the record, and I'm doing it for Planned Parenthood.) And also, still begging for requests for stuff to talk about. Seriously, after a while I'll just start making stuff up just for the hell of it. Or, you know, starting forty-eight rounds of Movie Quotes Tag.

My laptop was back in two days when I got it fixed.

And the name Cassandra Claire just makes me laugh. I was in fandom back when her fics were still on ff.n and a whole slew of people left when they kicked her off. Hahaha. Oh, fandom.

Aw, man. Mine got there last Friday, I think it was. I'm hoping it gets back here today sometime. All they had to do was fix the USB ports and maybe stop the CD drive from randomly popping open while they were at it. *sigh*

I hate my desktop. It's so mean to me.

Thank you for donating blood.

That's one of the really truly good things we can do and I'm glad I'm in the habit of doing it (have been since late 2003). And I make sure to wear "donate blood!" T-shirts and also be seen around town with the "Be Nice To Me, I Donated Blood Today" sticker on my chest, to get the message out.

Really, it gladdens me to see someone else do that. Thank you.

I tried in order to get my laptop fixed, but the whole process was just akward and difficult, and slow. I think the shipping fast and stuff but the repair queues might be long so... I hope you get yours back soon.

I'm just lucky I've got my desktop and I can still do what I have to.

On the other hand, I just saw the FedEx truck drive past my door. OHNO COME BACK YOU WHORE. *chases after*

In honor of Brain Weasel Stomping Day, I wanted to say how much I value having you on my flist. You're smart and hilarious and even though we're not much in the same fandoms, I still love to read your posts.

Hey, I haven't started my Apocalyptothon fic yet because school has been insane, but I'm starting it tonight and don't worry, I'll have it done. I'm aiming for between 30 to 50 pages, because that's nothing to write in 10 days. If it's too big to post on LJ, can I upload it to my geocities account and link to it?

Also, how do you want us to set up things? I usually put:

Title:
Author:
Rating:
Pairing:
Summary:
Notes:
Disclaimer:
Archive:

Would you want me to eliminate or add anything?

Oh god, Pulse is TERRIBLE. Trust me. Have fun with that. Also, I shipped my lappy out a few times. One time took me a couple weeks, one time took me about a week, and one time, I forget.

Yeah, the world is... funny like that sometimes.

When I sent my old ibook in for Apple to fix it, it was back in about four-five days. Good luck!
