Twelve o'clock and still no phone call from Compaq.

So I just filed a complaint with the BBB.

*whistles innocently*

*waves banner in support* Good luck with your complaint! It's about time more consumers started raising a fuss over their lackluster response times.

Thanks! I just keep thinking, "If I had acted like this in any of the customer service jobs I've had, I would have been fired. A LOT."

I know exactly what you mean. I see much the same in my job, and sometimes find myself wondering whether I'm working in the only department in the company that knows how to run itself efficiently and well. *grin*

Also, one can file a report at ripoffreport.com or whatever it is...and when you talk to compaq, mention you have done so.

rock

i'm backing you 100%

Good for you. :) If Compaq ever does contact you, maybe you should tell them? I wonder where they'd get defensive or start kissing your ass ... *g*

*whether, not where :P

Excellent. They've been totally screwing you around. For them to refuse to fix damage they caused, expired warranty or not, is absolutely ridiculous.

GOOD JOB! Take that Compaq! I hope it goes well for you.

Good luck! Kick their asses- this is what happens when "customer service" gets completely subsumed by the moneymaking impulse and forgets about the whole "customer service" deal. Many enraged victims of this kind of treatment are with you. :)

Good! If those customer service people are acting in accordance with policy, that policy should be ruthlessly attacked. If they're being assholes, they should be called on it - if I acted like that, I would expect (and deserve) major consequences.

I don't hang out there enough to be sure, but it might also be worthwhile to get in contact with the Consumerist website.

That was going to be my suggestion. I've done it, and it works.
