Oh, come on.

Dear USA Network,

I'm thrilled that you're showing the Indiana Jones movies today, but why the hell are you showing them BACKWARDS?

Sincerely,

Me

***

I ran up the house to find my mother's beef chow mein recipe, which I can't because my mother's cookbook is a mess and if I'd known about it before today I totally would have retyped the whole thing for her for Mother's Day (but I did find her apple pie recipe, YAY), and spotted her copy of Escape by Carolyn Jessop. So I plopped down on the easy chair (my brother fell asleep on the couch last night and was still there, he is SO my dad, do NOT tell him that, though) and started reading.

And then I stopped and put it back, because nine o'clock on Saturday morning when I just woke up is quite possibly the worst time for me to be reading a book about a woman escaping the FLDS.

Maybe they're showing them from worst to best?

... no, wait, that would involve putting Temple of Doom on first, then Last Crusade, and finally Raiders of the Lost Ark. Hmmm.

Sounds like they're ... I don't know, putting them in some kind of timeline order? Since Last Crusade actually starts with young!Indy, and Temple of Doom happens before Raiders?

That's the only thing *I* can think of.

But now I think I just might put the DVDs on. Yeeeeah.

What she said.

Last Crusade starts in 1912, then switches to 1938. Temple of Doom is set in 1935. Raiders of the Lost Ark is set in 1936. USA's schedule doesn't really work, since Last Crusade is set both before and after the other two. Personally, I would have shown them in Temple, Raiders, Crusade order, but I'm not a programming executive.

It would work if they showed Crusade again after Raiders! Which they totally should do, because there's no such thing as too much Dr. Jones!Sean Connery.
