Who needs a bed warmer?

Me: *is sitting up in bed under the blankets with my laptop on my lap*
Otis: *wriggles under the covers to curl up by my feet, rests his chin on my foot*
Me: *fidgets, moves my feet away from the cat*
Otis: *fidgets, rests his chin on my foot*
(Ten minutes later)
Me: *fidgets, moves my feet away from the cat*
Otis: *fidgets, rests his chin on my foot*
(Ten minutes later)
Me: *fidgets, moves my feet away from the cat*
Otis: *fidgets, rests his chin on my foot*

We've been doing this dance for an hour now. Heh.

My cat pulls that crap with me every single night when I try to go to sleep. Except it's the back of my knee/leg she seems attached to.
She also likes to stretch across my back and lay her head on my shoulder and paw at my face.
Sometimes it's adorable. Other times it's annoying.

The stuff he tries to do when I'm trying to go to bed is a hell of a lot less annoying than what he tries to pull when he wants me to wake up. I've gotten woken up to a cat sitting on my pillow wrapped around the top of my head like a tiara and purring as loudly as possible, sitting on my chest so that he can stare into my face from about two millimeters away, wriggling in between me and the wall -- I usually sleep on my side as close to the wall as I can manage -- and purring loudly, or the cat sitting on the mattress next to my head and placing his paw deliberately on my arm all, "Hey. Hey. Hey. Wake up. Feed me. Hey, come on."

Yes, yes. The cat right next to my head purring deafeningly, and then reaching out to my bare shoulder with a paw and just extending his claws gently to get my attention...

*g* Mei Mei has hardly left my lap all day. (Guess that shows what an active day I had, huh?) Life would be so horribly...orderly without kitties, wouldn't it?

Heh -- on Saturday I was sitting on my bed knitting and Dizzy was parked at the foot where is His Territory, and at one point we wound up with him nestled against my foot and ankle so that the top of my foot was against his back and he had a back leg draped over my ankle. Very comfortable for the both of us.
