Oh, yeah, that was a smart move.
I went to Panera after work with the intention of trying to finish chapter two of The Hollow Girl.
Instead I made the mistake of stopping at Fandom Wank and discovered there's new Twilight wank.
Oh, Twilight wankers, never change. You suck away my free time, but damn, if you aren't amusing as hell. *reaches out and rumples their hair*

There's a special kind of crazy that you only get with vampire related fandoms.
Hell. even back when Interview came out as a movie (What was that? 93/94-ish?) there was INTERNET wank about it.
I remember reading it and being amazed that anyone got so up in arms over a book and movie.
There were "The movie is so untrue to the books we should boycott it!" people, there was the whole, "OMGWTF?! Why aren't Louis' eyes GREEN?!" crowd (*waves to Potterfandom*), and then there was the slash crowd...
All of it was made even better when Anne Rice brought down the banhammer on specs (which, for those who don't know, is what we old-timers called fanfiction back then.) and started threatening to sue, going to webmasters to pull content, and this whole weird underground network of Anne Rice spec pages popped up and moved just as frequently.
She had some statement out about how they were her characters, writing specs about them was akin to copyright violation and stealing, and that writing your own stories about her characters essentially ruined them. She was also iffy on the idea of fan art, but didn't tear into that nearly as viciously as she did to fanfic.
There was no livejournal or journalfen at the time, but there was still the wank explosion.
It happened mostly on Geocities pages.
It was, of course, mostly slash stories as the focal point.
Wow, did that go off topic.

I'm debating whether I should ever BUY Breaking Dawn because I own the other three as gifts already...so I should ask for the last one as a gift...just so I can complete the set and one day show it to my children all "And this is what happens when you don't read good books in your free time"
I HAVE seen a few quotes though. Like as icons and stuff. Something about pillows and feathers and...I dunno. They all made me facepalm and shake my head.
