A problem for the ages

I have to leave for work in ten minutes.

Otis just hopped up into my lap, curled up, and is now purring himself to sleep while kneading my thigh with his paws.

You cat owners realize my dilemma. I may be stuck here FOREVER.

I feel for you. My boy, Fila, does that too. I have to debate with myself for ages before I finally push him down. *heartbreak*

I have the same problem right now. The lady who was taking care of my aunt has just left which means I need to get downstairs to take over. But Estella has made herself comfortable in my lap with her head pillowed on my knee and shows no sign of moving. Ever.

Mine do this, too. Their other trick is to wait until 5 minutes before I have to get up, because my bladder is bursting and then snuggle in.

Good luck. I heard one lady was stuck with her lap occupied for three days once. ;-)

And when you finally do something against it, they give you such a look...

Heh. We really should be allowed to call in kitty or puppy to work.

Heh, if I tried to move my cat once she's gotten comfortable, she'd probably go puke in my shoes just to get back at me.

Indeed. I have almost burst my bladder numerous times because Samuel deigned snuggle with me.

I miss having lap cats. Mine are of the 'no way am I going to be all snuggly' variety.

You are so doomed. :)

Oh cats.

I think my favorite is what mine does every morning. I sleep mostly on my stomach, so her normal favorite resting spot (which is slowly being changed with in between my shoulder blades, wtf?) is between my knees. When my alarm goes off in the morning, she flies off the bed to stand in front of where I keep it across the room, so she can yell at it quite spectacularly.

"No! You're making my cushion move ... she's up, look at what you did!"

My cat does that every morning before I go to work!

If he were my cat, you'd only be stuck there for two minutes or so, at which point he'd get bored and turn around and gnaw on my fingers. (At which point I'd feel no compunctions about dumping him on the floor. :))
