AfterElton goes to the Project Runway final fashion show.

Oh, pleeeeeeeeease let Leanne be one of the final three. PLEASE. If those two dresses are any indication her final collection is going to be fucking awesome and totally my favorite. Remember at the beginning of the season when Leanne said that "silent fashion assassin" crack and we were all, "... yeah. Right. Okay, sweetie, sure you are"? YES. THIS.

I also love what Korto brings to the table here. Those dresses are amazing.

Aside from that cream dress with the flowers I like nothing Kenley's showing me. Ugh.

Joe's collection looks like something a straight man would design. Not that they're bad, just ... yes, a straight man designed those dresses.

Is it just me, or do Suede's dresses look as if they were fitted on models twice the size of those girls?

Jerrell's outfits look good, too. If I were going to call the final three from those pictures I'd say Leanne, Korto, and Jerrell.

Kenley's is a freaking trainwreck. Not as much of one as Joe's (ugh, looking at more of it, that dress with the leather bustier is the only thing can say I genuinely like) or Suede's (the hell is that mess?), but GOD, if she's in the final three ... *headdesk*

I just don't want to HEAR her anymore. Dear god. I would take a thousand years of "Suede did this" and "Suede did that" over Kenley's nasal whine.

I did like this but let's be honest, it's just her doing her Bettie Page wannabeschtick AGAIN and she's not bringing anything new to the table. And this is just... dear god. My eyes.

Based on work so far I would be happy with a Korto or Leanne win and of the two collections Leanne's is the standout. Granted Korto does have some great pieces (I drool over this, Though I wouldn't wear all of it (or possibly any) you can look and it and go Yes, This. Like this is totally impractical but it still looks wearable and awesome.

It'll be interesting when we can see them move.

God, I know, right? Suede's third-person bullshit is annoying but you can at least tell underneath it all that he's basically a nice person -- although a complete flake -- and a hard-working designer. (His talent level, on the other hand ...) But Kenley ... GOD. Everybody else is wrong and nobody's criticism is worthy because she's SOOO good. *headdesk*

Yeah, that's the only dress of hers I like, but that second one ... I saw it and literally blurted out, "Jesus, her and her fucking prints." She keeps picking out these prints that are appalling. And she's not even redeeming them with innovative design.

The thing I adore about Korto and Leanne's collection is that they're using bold solid colors and whites and letting the design speak rather than some brash print. (*cough*KENLEY*cough*)

Yes, this. Uli didn't go bounding through a fabric store picking prints willy-nilly saying, "Ooo, pretty!" Uli had a purpose and a theme, and all of her prints fit into a structured collection. Uli's use of prints looked professional. Kenley's use of prints looks like, to steal a phrase from our dear Princess Chicken, a hot mess.

Honestly, even though Suede's collection is definitely a mess, if worse came to worse I'd rather have him in the final three than Kenley. He's really not so bad if you get past the third-person and the flakiness. He really seems like a nice person, whereas Kenley just gets cattier and snottier with every passing challenge.

I'm thinking Leanne and Korto are locks to be finishers. I'm torn on the final three, between Kenley and Jerrell, though. I'm leaning to Jerrell, just because I don't think they'd have an all female final three. Also, Kenley annoys me.

I like Jerrell's collection a lot more than Kenley's. I really like what I see of Jerrell's work there, but Kenley's use of prints continues to bug the crap out of me, partly because I think she has terrible taste in prints and partly because I think she leans way too much on the prints rather than the designs when making her garments.

Jerrell keeps trying to drop the next turn of phrase and it's not fucking working. At least with Blayne, I firmly believe he's like that on a daily basis. I don't buy Jerrell's like that when there's not a camera in his face for a minute.

I think this comment from Jezebel.com sums up Joe's collection perfectly: "There is a woman who's the perfect audience for some of this stuff, and her name is Jessica Simpson." I did like the navy gown with the white stars, tho.

I literally flinched away from my monitor while looking at some of Suede's pieces. Maybe that collection was a "Fuck you" to the show's producers?

Amen on that. Those two have the best collections by far.

The thing is, I get where Joe was going with the Americana theme. He just went too literal. And he really did design like a straight guy, so ... yeah, totally, this is Jessica Simpson's personal wardrobe right here. (I kind of like the dress with the black leather bustier myself. I couldn't and wouldn't wear it in a million years, but I like what he did with it.)

I'm hoping it's a big "Fuck you" to the producers. On the other hand, he'd have to be an idiot to throw away a Fashion Week show like that, and those designs, bad as they are, are totally him.
