I have spent the entire night ...

... sewing my ASS off.

I picked up material today to make my mom pajama bottoms with moose in the pattern (she loves moose, there are stuffed ones all over their bedroom). I didn't get her measurements but she's only a couple of sizes bigger than me so this should fit fine, and at the rate I'm going I'll be done by tomorrow.

As for my messenger bag, which I finally got the velcro for ... well, shockingly enough, my sewing machine is being temperamental about sewing through two layers of canvas AND a piece of velcro. SURPRISE. *sigh*

There's also a coat pattern I saw that I'm dying to make but didn't buy. I know it's spring and it's getting warmer so the idea of making a coat right now is a little silly, but the style is EXACTLY the sort I've been looking for for a while, and there's a LOT of steps involved in making it. That's sort of the problem, too ... I can already see the problems arising from me trying to make this thing.

Is it wrong if I want to take the PJ bottoms pattern and myself fake fur PJ bottoms?

What I'm really itching to do is make some of those retro '40s and '50s patterns they've got in some of the pattern books. I should not be allowed near Mod Cloth, you guys. Especially the Chuck Charles dress. Especially when the Chuck Charles dress is a.) more than I can afford and b.) SOLD OUT DAMN IT. What the hell? I want to wear that thing while baking cookies and wearing high heels while I'm, like, listening to Scissor Sisters at top volume and watching gay porn on my laptop.

I love the fact that there is a Chuck Charles dress, and that it looks like something that Chuck might wear. (Well, in bright pink or something, but still.)

My sewing machine cranky when I made my last messenger. I put in the heaviest duty denim needle I could find and let the machine go really slow. It eventually got done. :)

I'm totally out of supplies, so I'll probably have to pick some up later on this week. I'm just so happy to be sewing again. :D

I'm jealous! I haven't done anything other than hand-mending or hand-embroidery since before I moved back in with my family.

Yay for sewing! I usually stitch velcro in by hand, but my machine isn't very tough.

How do you sew your ass off? Shouldn't you sew it on after you laugh it off?

The clothing on that awesome is pretty awesome. I second the other commenter's link to Pinup Girl Clothing.
