Random things

So I've been growing my hair out again, and it's at that stage that I hate where styling it is a joke and I can't see the nice chin-length bob from here even though my bangs are too long to allow to hang in my eyes and I only need three more inches or so to reach my chin. And yet I still stare at it and whine that it's taking too long, even though if I can hold out until my birthday or so, I'll be fine.

Basically, the only thing keeping me from running out right now and getting a haircut is my lack of money. Which is probably a good thing, considering I'd like my hair back.

I haven't written anything in a week. This is really depressing, considering I've got bunches of stuff I could be working on. Two ficathon assignments, GPW, Heroine Addiction, Chapter and Curse, The Hollow Girl, and then yesterday the phrase "professional invisible friend" popped into my head during a Twilight Zone episode and now it wants to be a story. Go figure.

I'm tempted to pack up and head to my parents' house, but I doubt anything will happen if I go up there other than my mother hounding me about getting a job. And going to the cafe is out of the question. Maybe I'll just go borrow five bucks from my brother so I can get out of here and attempt to squeeze some words out of my brain.

I was pleasantly surprised the other day because at no time did I pimp Merlin to Jess and she's been watching it anyway. Heh.

Also, I find reading other people's first-time reactions to the episodes hilarious. Far too many people are thinking about it waaaaay too much. It's cheesy and anachronistic and stupid, but it's fun as hell once you get into it. Pretty boys! Pretty girls! Pretty (albeit obnoxious) Giles!

I want ice cream. And new headphones to replace the earbuds that stopped working this week. *pouts*

When it's hot outside, it's hard to find the motivation to write. Anything I can do to help? Heh...Lord knows I need to find motivation as well. So, which story are you thisclose to finishing?

Well, it's not really that hot here. I think I just started stressing myself out and it's sort of snowballed since then. ;)

Let's see ... The Grand Prize Winner is finished, but it's just a first draft and I still have to isolate the problems I've been having with it and edit the crap out of it. Heroine Addiction is currently halfway done and pretty much outlined all the way to the end, it's just a matter of summoning up the energy to finish. I got the first three chapters of The Hollow Girl written a year ago and haven't touched it since except to sketch out details and figure out the general plot. And Chapter And Curse is just an idea right now more than anything else -- I've got a concept and characters, I just have to dig up a plot.

I think I may spend the rest of the night sketching out Chapter and Curse, if only because it's not as intensive and maybe writing things out longhand rather than typing will jump-start my brain.

Sounds like a good idea. Hope it jump starts the creativity.:)

I'm an overthinker by nature when it comes to television, but even I had to just throw my hands up, giggling, and enjoy the ride within ten minutes of the second episode. There were pretty boys. One of them moaned a lot. Medieval Britain apparently stocks a Sephora, because Nimue's wine-colored lipstick was stunning. I'm really not going to try to get more analytical than that.
