I don't watch Torchwood, but ...

Might I suggest The Middleman or Leverage to fill in those hours you'll be spending never watching Torchwood again?

Seriously, what the fucking fuck.

I lol'd. I never got the appeal of that show anyway.

Found out early today and am not touching that show with a ten-foot pole ever again. Just NO.

I don't watch the show, so I haven't been avoiding spoilers, and I knew this was coming. But right now I am bracing for my flist to explode in woe as soon as they all actually get the thing downloaded.

I'm watching, but I learned a long time ago to never really expect to be that happy with Torchwood to begin with. ^^;;

I hated Owen from the beginning, loved Tosh, and when they were kind enough to get rid of him they were mean enough to off HER too. The writing always seemed uneven and not really ~*edgy*~ enough for all its' Dr-Who-For-Grownups boasting, and...yeah. I only ever made it about halfway through the first 2 seasons before getting bored and skipping to the last eps. ^^;;

I'm still watching CoE b/c I'm frankly still interested, but I can't say I'm surprised at the news either. If it's true? Well, just one more disappointment from a show that never lived up to its' potential in my mind anyway.

Well, now I don't need to bother watching season 3. I was going to wait until it was all broadcast to watch, but there's not a chance in hell now.I was really hoping Torchwood would decide to avert the whole Bury Your Gays trope... *sigh*

(I'm less broken up than I should be, since as long as I haven't seen it it's DisContinuity in my head. Plus, I can always turn to the metric ton of Fix-It fic that's going to spring up in response to this, and half the fanfic is better written than the show anyway.)

Dammit, Rusty.

Heh. Well, there were spoilers, and then there were giant flashing anvils of doom and foreshadowing. So I wasn't surprised. They did that thing Lost did where they finally gave him motivation, so you knew it was coming.

I'll still watch. I'll watch forever. I am partly a masochist, though mostly I'm just in it for the lulz.

:(

I...

*sighs*

That always happens to the characters I like.

I have one thing to say: FIX IT.

I always find watching Torchwood slightly jarring, since I actually live in Cardiff. I'm constantly amused by the way they keep turning round a corner in the city centre and then appearing in Cardiff Bay, despite the city centre and the Bay being a couple of miles apart. Must be the timey wimey.

Never mind the death of Mincing Tea Boy, I'm more concerned about the fact that they blew up Roald Dahl Plass.

The thought I had after watching the final pair of episodes Sunday night was that RTD was quite deliberately putting a stake through the heart of the show by eliminating all three remaining TW personnel -- Ianto dead, Gwen with a baby to be thinking about, Jack leaving the planet in a cloud of angst -- so that no one else can get handed the show and play with his toys (or turn out to run the show much better than he ever did). Moffat created Jack, and he can have the Doctor run across him at some point, but TW is off the table.
