Three hair-related things:

1. I have reached a point in growing out my hair where from the ears up I look a lot like Tim Urban.

2. Some poor hairstylist is going to look at the back of my head when I grow it long enough for a bob, spot the bits I've been trimming without looking in my bathroom, and beat me senseless.

3. The reason this is the point in growing out my hair at which I inevitably crack and cut it all off again is that my bangs are now not long enough to tuck behind my ears, but just long enough so the ends dangle directly in my eyes.

3. That's the point where I get some nice hair clips and just clip the dangly bits out of the way.

I get so sick and tired of clipping the dangly bits of the way, though. There's only so much you can really do with them at this point. Not to mention that instead of pretty eyes or high cheekbones, my family's signature trait is a bit of a fivehead, so after a while I end up feeling like I should just some advertising up there and call it a day. I've been clipping my bangs back for a while now and I've still got another two or three months before I'll be able to tuck them behind my ears.

I use clips at that annoying stage, too. Or a nice soft headband that doesn't hurt after you've worn it all day.

I'm about to cut off all my winter hair, so this stuff is on my mind. :P

I survive that stage by pulling them straight back from my forehead and securing with little clippy barrettes. For variation, you can part, twist, etc.

Barrettes are your friend.

Also, I have a high forehead too. I get used to dealing with it. Or part at the side and secure the bangs just under the to layer on the other side, so it looks like they're tucked all the way over and behind the ear. That gets you a little forehead camouflage.

Ditto this. I too am growing out my hair, and augh.

I've been letting mine grow since March of last year, and I am losing my mind. I'd forgotten what a huge pain it is to deal with longer hair. I can't think with all this hair!

For three, how about some headbands? Not the kind that look like horseshoes, the kind that go all the way around your head.

Hats might be fun, too.

I hate hairclips, so while Im' growing mine out, I've started parting it to the side instead of in the middle. It makes my bangs lay better, because they're longer and I push them to the side.
