Pray tell, what is wrong with it, so that I'm aware of it before I go out and buy it?

Can it be as bad as my Elephant rental DVD, which kept skipping and then died during the climax?

That movie was painful, by the way. Painful.

Yup, that's exactly what's happening, and it's annoying the piss out of me, because it's never done it before and I can't see any scratches on it or anything. I may just wait until tonight to finish watching it, 'cause I'm getting too irritated to snark.

And Elephant? ARGH. I like a good school shooting as much as the next person (okay, so maybe not), but those kids were seriously doped on something. The correct response to two kids running through your high school shooting people is not a casual stroll and the facial expression equivalent of, "School shooting? Huh. Bummer."

There was this ridiculous on-going debate on [livejournal.com profile] indiefilms about how Van Sant intended to make Elephant as a concept film, which, by their definition was "an intentionally bad film about nothing." Okay then.

There's a reason why we have professional actors. Their job is to attempt to have multiple facial expressions. I say attempt because some consider Keanu (who I find appealing in a mashed potato sort of way) an actor.

Armageddon is also painful in the story content department. When they start stealing bits from Star Trek: TOS you know nobody really cared anymore.

That's a little hard for it to do, considering it's, you know, Armageddon.
