(no subject)

Does anybody else find it as amusing as I do that they're finally putting Al Pacino and Christopher Walken in the "Gigli" commercials as an act of desperation? Twenty bucks says they're both real pissy and grumbly right now and Chris owes Al a nice crisp twenty.

I'm also giggly about the critic's comment that's attached to the ads -- "original ... with an interesting twist!" What you miss out on is the editing that they did to change it from, "Originally, J.Lo got her fiancee to do this movie with an interesting twist of the 'nads!" (Yes, my "Gigli" hatred knows no bounds. Well, until it meets the place where it gets to my Dubya hatred, my Hildi and Kia hatred, and my hatred of Necco wafers. Someday, someone will explain to me why slivers of sidewalk chalk make good snacks. Eww.)

I also think that Robert Verdi from "Surprise by Design" describing a tray of pineapples as "the fruitiest thing ever" is today's official definition of irony.

You know, you would think 'original' implies there is an interesting twist. But no...

If the "interesting twist" he's talking about is J.Lo's character being a lesbian, I have a complaint. A big one.

If it's the usual 'Ben Affleck is not the cure for lesbianism', we've heard it, taken it on board, agreed, cheered, and had it added to the fundamental laws of the universe.

I seem to remember her being on your list of women you'd consider changing sides for, provided she kept her mouth shut did not speak, though.

(I'm not a pervert. Really. I just have near-perfect factual recall)

Yup, she's on the list. Just as long as she says nothing. I won't argue that she's not gorgeous, but if she'd stop being an unbearable bitch, that might help. (Of course, Eliza Dushku ... well, you wouldn't need to put a gun to my head. There wouldn't even be much of an argument, aside from whether or not I'd have to let her out of the bedroom anytime soon. I think I consider myself bisexual only in the context of liking both men and Eliza Dushku. :))

And the "interesting twist" complaint is not so much that he's not the cure for lesbianism, but that if the movie critic thinks that Ben reforming a lesbian is all that original and interesting, he can't be a very good movie critic.

Then again, if they're using him in their advertisements, he's definitely not a good movie critic.
