Okay, with a week left ... a show of hands. Who's doing NaNoWriMo? And just of curiosity, do you know what you're writing yet?

Personally, I've got a title, characters, and a location. A plot, however, is something I'm sorely lacking at this point. And yay, only a week to pull one out of thin air. But at last I have a very tiny purple stapler, with very tiny purple staples. :)

Hee, hee.

NaNo 2001 was during my junior year of undergrad, with a week-long transatlantic trip during which I wasn't writing. (10k. About angels.)

NaNo 2003 was during my first year of grad school, and I got so bored and frustrated, I started randomly killing off characters. (Gaw. Not even 10k, I think.)

I have decided to save the crazy writing endeavors for sometime when I don't have sixty pages of scholarly writing to do. I plan on spending this November laughing at other people a lot. And I'm going to have to take a gander at your icon come November.

2002 was a hideously clichéd fantasy novel, complete with Tragic Heroine with Mystical Powers. I cringe just thinking about it. It died a merciful death around 12K. 2003 was gay porn. Manly Viking Abducts Innocent Celt for Immoral Purposes. It was an original version of a friend's AU fanfic, and I spent half my time worrying that using someone else's plot ideas was cheating, and the other half jilling off. I have no idea how much of it there is. Every time I open it up to do a word count, I get distracted by the constant fucking.
