(no subject)

I just signed up to rec Action/Adventure at [livejournal.com profile] movie_recs. Yay! Now I just need to make a list of deserving action/adventure stuff that not nearly enough people have seen. (I was tempted to sign up for the Comedy recs, but my first one would have been Battlefield Earth and no one would have taken me seriously after that. ;))

And you know, movie lovers on my list, there are still reccers needed for other genres. Hint, hint. ;)

EDIT: I may take to reccing one little-action movie everybody misses and should see and one classic action movie that should be required viewing for anyone who likes action films each week. 'Cause there are action movies that I think should be seen by everyone and don't get to be, and classic ones that people pass up over and over again and shouldn't miss, and I want to alternate. Besides, it gives me a chance to rec movies popular action movies and talk about 'em (because action is my favorite genre -- I love movies where things blow up and people get shot up and there's screaming and Muppet arms), and plus, I get to rec disaster movies. :)

Hee. I've only been signed up for a few hours and I am loving this. *eg*

Notice how I laugh like I won't probably sign up for it next month. (You will be reccing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, won't you? *begs you*)

Heh. Only if someone else doesn't get to it first. I have a few in mind already, though.

The Long Kiss Goodnight

Good reccomendation -- that's one of my favourite movies (and I'm not even from Pennsylvania!)

I feel like watching it again now, but if I do, it's going to totally distract me from writing tonight. But, the dialogue! *swoon*

"What, are you a Mormon?"
"Yes, I'm a Mormon. That's why I just smoked a pack of Newport and drank three vodka tonics."

*bounces up and down happily*

YES! Contains the best dialogue EVAR.

"We need money. And fake passports."
"Well, why didn't you say so? 'Scuse me while I go and pull those outta my ass."

And, of course, being a Jersey boy, I cheered at "Lots of people tried to escape New Jersey and failed. The whole population, in fact."

went and looked at it; tuned out when someone actually recommended resident evil. that was fast. :)

I think those of us who signed up so far raced over there just to rec a specific movie. I know I did. ;) Now, I just have to make a list of other movies to rec ...

I never saw the first one, but the second Resident Evil was surprisingly watchable in a total fluff zombie movie kind of way.

...

...what? It was!

You need to put in at least one poorly dubbed kung fu movie. Just because.
