Bill O'Reilly just tried to argue that we can't have gay marriage because then the bisexuals will want to marry.

The stupid, it burns.

[identity profile] hamadryad.livejournal.com 2005-04-21 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
But I'm already married. Wait - does this mean my marriage isn't valid because I'm not straight?

[identity profile] beccak1961.livejournal.com 2005-04-21 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I was thinking the same thing. Then again, I'm not only for gay marriage, I think bigamy should be legal, as long as everyone in the relationship is in agreement.

Does Good Ol' Bill even know what a bisexual IS? Or is he just banging the drum against polygamy?

Do you get a feeling that he doesn't know what "bisexual" means?

[identity profile] holy-whatever.livejournal.com 2005-04-21 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Obviously it has something to do with those dang perverts who are desecrating the holy act of sexual union (between a man and a woman) by having sex on bicycles.

[identity profile] nadmonk.livejournal.com 2005-04-21 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Consider yourself lucky. He's an american "talk" show host, ultra conservative. And a real asshole, if he doesn't agree with someone he usually just ends up shouting at them and/or threatening them. He makes Rush Limbaugh seem kind of laid back.

I can see the logical progression he's trying to stipulate (the bis will want to marry a man and woman), but if that's the case, why doesn't he just say gay marriage will lead to polygamy?

Not like most of his fans would have the brain capacity for logical leaps, anyway.

[identity profile] delwyncole.livejournal.com 2005-04-21 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh? I'm having more trouble than usual with this logic that is not.

I have the solution for gay marriage...

[identity profile] seferin.livejournal.com 2005-04-21 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Tell the straight men - Less competition for the hot chicks, and are you complaining that women want to have sex with each other?

2. Tell the straight women - enjoy the pretty, and lets be honest... are you have been married for a while, isnt lesbian porn responsible for a lot of your sex life?

dsjfosfansdbfiurbeg is the union between the two. Of course, only Massachusetts will see it as a marriage.

....what?

Um. What?

I guess he's trying to allude to the slippery slope theory (ya know, cause then the bisexuals will want EVERYTHING!) without saying "slippery slope", but...WHAT?

[identity profile] melaniedavidson.livejournal.com 2005-04-22 01:10 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] cacahuate.livejournal.com 2005-04-21 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I've seen him do that before. It's because he thinks 'bisexual' = 'polygamist'. I mean, I know I won't be satisfied until I'm married to both a man and a woman! *headdesk*

[identity profile] jedilora.livejournal.com 2005-04-21 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)

WHAT? I vote we mail him a dictionary with a careful bookmark, and then a stack of wedding announcements from bisexuals. Also, a card that plays Nelson's "Ha Ha!" when you open it.

See if his head go boom.

See, we bisexuals already want to marry. And lots of us do marry. And here in my state, I can marry a man or a woman until the state constitution gets amended. He's just afraid that it means a man and a woman. Of course, anyone who can't even figure out what a 4-syllable word means isn't much of a threat to me.

[identity profile] bearfood.livejournal.com 2005-04-22 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
tragically, they are a threat, since they seem to make up a pretty steadily huge portion of the voting public.
