I'm trying to look at the bright side of having to rewrite pretty much everything in Dead Men in Dark Suits:

-- I already know the whole plot and the things that have to be fixed.
-- I already know the characters in and out.
-- There are parts that can be salvaged easily enough.
-- If there's one good thing comparing the already rewritten first chapter to the rest of it has shown, it's that I've gotten better.

On the other hand:

-- I'm making it all first-person rather than half of first-person and half of third-person, so I have to rewrite almost the whole thing.
-- Uh, I mentioned the bit about having to rewrite almost everything, right?

In summation ... a light and bouncy *headdesk*.
