I think I'm going to invent a Pop-Up Mallet. My laptop might not survive, but it'll certainly convey the limitless depths of my hatred.

There are a number of alternatives out there. Mozilla and MozillaFirebird (www.mozilla.org) both do popup blocking as well as tabbed browsing (once you've used it, you'll never go back) and there's even a tool that I haven't tried called Avant (http://www.avantbrowser.com/) that is just a wrapper around ie, giving it popup blocking, tabs and all that. Explorer is currently the only major browser that doesn't support popup-blocking. Why? Go to msn.com and just see how many popups display. =:)

Opera is pretty decent too and it offers a nice pop-up blocker. Although, the mallet might be much more gradifying!
