So let's see ... Pat Robertson said Sharon had a stroke as divine punishment for dividing God's land. The author of "Bush's Brain" is on the No Fly List. Rep. Troy Woodruff of Indiana filed a bill to make abortion illegal in Indiana. Oh, and Fred Phelps is going to picket the funerals of the dead miners in West Virginia. (Actually, that move is pure genius, I must say, considering how many West Virginians are armed and how likely it is he'll make it out of the state alive after a move like that.)

In summation, my brain hurts. Which doesn't properly describe how any of these makes me feel, but it's either brain-hurty or fist-hurty after I punch my fist through the nearest wall.

So, in between trying to get that skirt finished on the crappiest sewing machine on the planet (I really need to invest in a new one), I bring you more fic recs. And yeah, I am going to double the number of recs, because if I can get up to seventeen recs in the first five days, I've already got a pretty good pace going. So seven hundred and thirty altogether, it is. :)

Don't Drive So Fast In The Daytime, by [livejournal.com profile] ignipes (Superntural, Dean and Sam) -- First of all, it's gen (for those of you tired of the Wincest, and as much I personally love it, I don't blame you), and not only that, it's excellent gen. Sam ponders their next destination one night in between flashbacks to his childhood. Cool and creepy all at once.

Watch, by [livejournal.com profile] nitesh_update (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, Tumnus, Peter, and Lucy) -- I'm not getting too technical with the must-have-posted-in-2006 on this one, particularly since it was only five minutes difference. ;) In any event, it's a lovely chat between Tumnus and Peter as they watch Lucy in the forest a few months after the defeat of the Witch.

Kneel, by [livejournal.com profile] aliaspiral (Firefly/Serenity, River/Jayne) -- An AU moment-in-time during the events of Serenity. (So obviously, spoilers for the movie.)

Blue, by [livejournal.com profile] mst3k_100 (Mystery Science Theater 3000, Tom Servo) -- A hysterical written statement by Servo about a minor incident on the Satellite.

Missionary, by [livejournal.com profile] mjules (Firefly, Mal/River) -- I should probably restrain myself from reccing WIPs, but I love this concept. It's AU in which River never gets rescued by Simon and after becoming an assassin for the Alliance is sent undercover to kill a dangerous Browncoat -- Mal Reynolds. It's a start, but it's a damn fine one.

Fic recs left: 713 recs (*whimpers*)

Apparently, everyone who dies nowadays is a sign of God's hate. I wish God would spread a little of that hate over at a certain man whose name starts with a Ph and ends with an elps. There's a funeral I'd be willing to picket.

Though I might just go the classy route and boycott it.

I hate this damn state.

Why must everything that happens be seen as a direct act of God? Doesn't *anyone* die of natural causes anymore?

Also, yay! Narnia fic!
