You know what really pisses me off about the whole Napoli thing on a personal level? (And not just the offensiveness of the whole quote, because really anybody with common sense should be disgusted by it.)

It's that that may be the first time I've ever been given the impression I'm not a good ENOUGH virgin.

How is that even fucking possible?

And what really, REALLY pisses me off about that whole thing is that as a virgin, even in the situation cited, I would still not have an abortion. I'm pro-choice for everybody else, but I would never have an abortion unless my life was in danger or the fetus wasn't viable. I might not keep it in a situation like that -- I'd have to do a LOT of soul-searching -- but I'd still have it. I just couldn't bring myself to do it if it were me.

And yet, still not a good enough virgin.

Just a tiny nitpick on something, but it's something that bothers me when people say it. It's not that you're pro-choice for everyone else but you. You are pro-choice. Your choice just happens to be that you wouldn't have an abortion.

I know, it seems like semantics, but I personally think that the distinction needs to be made.

Besides, the entire question is circumstantial, anyway. You never truly know what you'd do in a certain situation until you're in it, and I think it's reasonably safe to say that if a woman is pregnant then she's not a virgin*.

*If she is, then she wants the baby anyway and is the least likely to have an abortion.

I don't know if I'd have the abortion in that situation - in theory I would, since I don't want to be a mother, but I just can't tell. I'd consider it. But I respect your choice too... and if I thought Napoli did, that he was out there in the front lines *helping* pregnant women who *refused* abortions, I'd have a lot more respect for him.

What do you bet the virgin's skin colour would make a difference to him? Or her shape and size? If she met all his fucked-up criteria, was raped exactly 'bad enough' to satisfy him (I use the word 'satisfy' intentionally) but didn't meet his fantasy picture, would he consider her worthy of the privilege of an abortion?
