So I've put off posting a real fic rec post for so long, it's kind of piled up a LOT. And I haven't even gotten to read all of the

apocalyptothon entries that have been posted yet, so there should be more of them coming.

apocalyptothon) -- Oh, man. One thing I like in post-apocalyptic stuff is when it comes down to two people, when it's just two people who never got along or couldn't be together or had some other horrible difficulty suddenly coming together because there's simply no one else left to turn to.

Existential Teenage Angst, by

impertinence (Supernatural, Sam/Dean) -- Complete and total crack. Sam and Dean are left to their own devices when it starts raining cats and dogs. Like, literally. And then there's a crazed alligator and a blowjob. Just go with it, people.

Endless Night, by

thisdistance (Supernatural, Sam/Dean) -- Sam and Dean pick up a hitchhiker, and things get weird and creepy and just generally wrong from there. It'll make you dizzy, and you'll love every minute of it.

Do Nothing For The Dead, by

ladyjaida (Supernatural, Sam and Dean) -- Post-"Devil's Trap" fic that's sad and painful and it just hurts.

People Livin' In Competition, by

ladyjaida (Supernatural, Sam/Dean) -- You know how Sam and Dean's prank wars escalate? Well, this is what happens when that slap of the ass in "Bugs" escalates. *snickers*

What Comes Around, by

spastic_visions (Supernatural/Dark Angel, Sam and Alec) -- He should have left this city the minute he walked into Crash and saw the double of his brother. I've seen maybe fifteen minutes of one episode of DA, but I love what's done here with Alec and his connection with Sam.

Dean Slept Here, by

profcricket (Supernatural, Sam/Dean, John/OFC) -- Sometimes the simplest things are the only anchors you’ve got. Dean knows this all too well. Oh, I love Dean in this story so much. Plus, big props for a wicked-cool OFC.

Nice Girls Finish Last, by

rachel_shanz (Supernatural/Veronica Mars, Lilly/Sam/Dean) -- Does that threesome need any elaboration to get you interested? Honestly, Lilly would have had a field day with those two.

Feast For The Senses, by

dannyblue (Supernatural, Sam and Dean) -- An AU in which Sam's been vamped. Oh, how I love the thought of Sam having been vamped. Now, we just need more stories where Dean was the one who got vamped. Or better yet, John. Ooooo.

Angels Losing Sleep, by

sugardrop (Supernatural, Sam and Dean) -- Post-"Devil's Trap" fic that just breaks your heart and then jumps up and down on the pieces. I would pay cold hard cash to see more of this version of what happens after. It won't happen on the show, that's for damn sure, but OH, YES.

Temporary, by

penknife (X-Men movieverse, Rogue) -- Five ways Rogue finds out nothing's permanent. As much as I dislike the way they handled Rogue in the movie (although not what she did, which I get), this is what I'm waiting for ... what comes after things change the way you know they will after the end of the movie. (This is the second post-X3 fic that's made me want to snatch up Bobby and run for the hills for him before something bad happens to him. Poor baby. *whimpers*)

Radio Silence, by

apocalyptothon) -- Twenty-seven loosely connected drabbles featuring River at the end of everything. River in fic can drive me up a wall sometimes, but I love her in this.

The Water's Fine, by

elishavah (Supernatural, Dean/Andrea) -- Yay! There's not nearly enough het fic in SPN fandom for obvious reasons (Jess and Mary are dead, they haven't gotten a chance for Sam to go back and see Sarah, you can count the number of people who liked Cassie on one hand), but I really like the idea of Dean going back to see Andrea from "Dead in the Water", even it is for one smoking-hot afternoon fling.

Yamim Nora'im (Days of Awe), by

marag (X-Men movieverse, OMC) -- The Rosh Hashana sermon of Rabbi Jacob Bloom of Congregation Beth Tikva. I love this like candy.

Betrayals and Resurrections, by

c_elisa (X-Men movieverse, a little bit of everybody) -- Five things that didn't happen at the end of X3. I particularly loved the Magneto section. HEE.

Faultline, by

monkeycrackmary (Supernatural, Dean, Sam, John, and Mary) -- An AU in which Dean is the younger brother. Sad and touching.

With This Ring, by

babyofthegroup (CW RPS, Jared/Jensen) -- Weddingfic! Half of it is the thought of Jensen and Jared getting married, which you know would end up being a comedy of errors right there. But I would pay for tickets to watch Chris and Mayhem throw a bachelor party.

But I Never Could Sharpen No Blade, Quite the Way He Say, by

onelittlesleep (Supernatural, Sam and Dean) -- Pre-series, Sam and Dean hit the road together. When you can finally see the road ahead, you'll just want to hug the both of them.
