Random things

-- George Takei marries longtime partner. Awwwww. :)

-- Sarah Palin and African Americans in Alaska. In a related note, This is Your Nation on White Privilege.

-- In less aggravating news, Tina Fey as Palin and Amy Poehler as Clinton. SNL pretty much fails most of the time anymore, but that was perfect.

-- This article sums up in the first few paragraphs why all the talk about more drilling bugs the hell out of me.

-- The 5 Most Baffling Spin-Offs In Television History

-- I've got the window open and candles lit, and there's a nice breeze and the Ambient station playing on AOL Radio, and you'd think this would be more conducive to writing, and yet mostly I'm sitting around linkhopping and thinking about the (at least) six straight days of work I've got coming. Urgh.

Every single time I think Palin can't disgust me more than she already has, I learn something new that makes me throw up a little in my mouth!

But aww! George!!!

I keep trying to be realistic or whatever and be like, "Okay, what if it's not as bad as they imply?" And even when I do that with every Palin story that comes out, there's just so much and it's all so terrifying that even giving it two steps worth of leeway leaves her three steps over the edge in my estimation.

Takei, 71, and Altman, 54, were married Sunday in a multicultural ceremony at the Japanese American National Museum that featured a Buddhist priest, Native American wedding bands, a Japanese Koto harp and a bagpipe procession.

COOLEST WEDDING EVER.

"I vow to care for you as you've cared for me ... and to love you as my husband and the only man in my life," Takei said as he held Altman's hands.

*sniffles* I have been going "AWWWW" all through that article. THE HAPPINESS, SHE OVERWHELMS ME.

I think my favorite part of that SNL skit (apart from it being Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who have SO MUCH FUCKING CHEMISTRY OH MY GOD I LOVE THEM TOGETHER) was Clinton's crazy laughter and "YOU KNOW, IF I COULD GO BACK AND CHANGE ANYTHING, I WOULD WANT IT MORE."

That, and maybe the offer to lend the press her balls.

I hope they take her up on it.

My favorite part is Tina Fey's delivery of "I don't know what that means," and the way Palin keeps mugging to the camera's when Clinton's ranting. God, that clip is awesome. \o/

The press wouldn't know what to do with a pair of balls. Usually the body part they're infatuated with kissing's on the other side.
