Soooooo, yeah.
Feb. 19th, 2010 06:42 amIf you haven't already heard, HBO bought the rights to Olli and Christian. Not the rest of VL, just Christian and Olli's storyline. And they're going to turn it into a TV show.
At first, I was like, "I might like it. If, you know, they get Thore and Jo and set it in Germany and everybody speaks German." Because it's already been done, and quite well at that.
But then I let it settle a bit, and now I'm a little bit more cautiously optimistic about it. Because on the face of it, yes, we already have a Christian and Olli, and they're wonderful. There's a reason they're so popular. But VL does not center around them. There's a reason Nana can only compile a handful of minutes here or there -- because they're not the main characters nor the main storyline.
This would be a television show with a main couple consisting of two men, featured on a network which more often than not turns out quality original programming. So I'm hesitantly being positive about it. Let's just see who they cast and work from there.
(Jensen as Christian, Jared as Olli? Heh, in my dreams. Hey, we know they have chemistry! And somebody suggested Eddie Cahill as Olli, and now it won't leave my head because Eddie Cahill and Jo actually look a LOT alike.)

Oh, my God. Tears streaming down my face.
Also? This picture makes me want to write lesbian romance in the worst way. I don't know who they are but that is such a beautiful picture of them in their lovely dresses.
EDIT: Oh, wow, forty-six years together? These two guys are awesome.

Prop 8 sponsors seek to nullify 18,000 gay marriages. (EDIT: You know, now that I've calmed down a bit, this has the potential to backfire on these fuckers BIGTIME. It's like they've completely forgotten they didn't get a landslide on the Prop 8 vote.)

How did I miss that?
Nov. 11th, 2008 10:41 pmFeeling bad about California? Well, feel better about Connecticut.
Random things
Sep. 15th, 2008 01:30 am-- George Takei marries longtime partner. Awwwww. :)
-- Sarah Palin and African Americans in Alaska. In a related note, This is Your Nation on White Privilege.
-- In less aggravating news, Tina Fey as Palin and Amy Poehler as Clinton. SNL pretty much fails most of the time anymore, but that was perfect.
-- This article sums up in the first few paragraphs why all the talk about more drilling bugs the hell out of me.
-- The 5 Most Baffling Spin-Offs In Television History
-- I've got the window open and candles lit, and there's a nice breeze and the Ambient station playing on AOL Radio, and you'd think this would be more conducive to writing, and yet mostly I'm sitting around linkhopping and thinking about the (at least) six straight days of work I've got coming. Urgh.

I'd have more in-depth thoughts about the Supernatural finale but aside from ( slight spoiler ), nothing's really demanding I express my opinion on it right this second. I do, however, need to go buy tampons, Pepsi, and Cheetos, and have an outline for the rest of what was going to be my Bigbang written out, so if anything's demanding my attention right now it's that.
And also my novel. But first, fanfic!
(My priorities, let me show you them. SIGH.)

May. 9th, 2008 06:19 pm( Spoilery clip from last night's Grey's Anatomy. Just look at the tag. )

I'm thinking of posting what was going to be my Bigbang in chapters to encourage me to finish the thing. In all honesty, I've got a good chunk of it done, it's just a matter of filling in the blanks.
On the other hand, I'd much rather finish it in total and then go over it for mistakes and stuff. I think the WIP-posting thing is just my impatience rearing up.

The Duggars are having their 18th kid. Damn. I think I'm not so much creeped out by the number of kids -- hey, if it's eighteen kids, it's still your choice -- as I am by the clothes, the haircuts, the J-names (what, no M-names? Or would that be too much like acknowledging Mom?), and the smiles that never, ever go away. If they had two kids, I think they'd still creep me out. Urgh.

Can we have an election now? Please? Can I vote for somebody so we can get this over with, please? *headdesk*
EDIT: GODDAMN IT. All right, that's it. I give up. I just splashed tomato sauce all over my kitchen carpet and my writer sweatshirt while I was trying to make dinner. Just another capper on a crappy day. I think after I'm done eating I'm going to go into the kitchen now, retrieve a two-liter of Pepsi and the amaretto, and drink myself silly.

These are the Kevin and Scotty clips from last night's new episode of Brothers and Sisters. (It was last night, right? The last new episode, anyway. Whatever.)
So there's rumors going around that the company is shutting down our division of the plant next month. Which, great. And in the realm of impeccable timing, the position that I applied for two months ago in another part of the factory -- one which would probably still be there even if our division were cut -- just opened back up again. Albeit on another shift, but it's on day shift and I'd have something one step closer to a normal schedule. (Honestly, the possibility of a layoff isn't what's bothering me so much as the timing seems to come right after the company picnic at Hershey and game day at the local Yankees farm team which, yes, please, encourage us to waste a bunch of money and then lay us off. *sigh*)
And then there's this:

EDIT: Oh, my God, what did Nikki Cox do to her lips? No, you can't have any more collagen, sweetheart. You have used up all of the collagen. In summation, collagen.

A few things
Apr. 24th, 2008 10:57 amFor my own amusement, here's yesterday's Luke and Noah kiss without all of the excess and Ameera's needy garbage:
And I made a Luke and Noah tag that's much like my Christian and Olli tag. Heh.
Also, one more week to sign up for
apocalyptothon. PIMP, PIMP. :)
I still haven't finished the chapters I was supposed to finish yesterday. I think I need to sit back and take a closer look at where the story's going right now to see how the rest of the chapters are going to unfold. (I'm also tempted to skip ahead and write the ending to get that out of the way, but I'm a little afraid to at this point if only because it's still a bit foggy in the details and I'm not sure I want to commit to something I'll have to change anyway.)
I'm probably going to take all of those notes, and all of the notes for the new novel idea, up to my parents' house today and just lie out in the sun while I work on them both. The new one requires a wee bit more research than the one I'm writing now, so I think I'm going to have to sit down with some of my books and take a bunch of notes and stuff.
In other news I really wish my tax rebate were in my bank account already so that I could go out and do something tomorrow, but I'm afraid to check and be all disappointed at how broke I am without it. Le sigh.
