I'm really stupid.

You know that job posting my mother mentioned to me? Well, I told her the little white lie that I sent the guy an email with my resume even though I'm still working on it. Which, okay, I'm taking too long, but with my mother, you either tell her the white lie or she just. keeps. ASKING.

I ... um, forgot my cousin's husband works at the newspaper.

And he knows the guy who's doing the hiring.

So now I have to hurry and get all this crap done, which is just fabulous considering I can't write "letters stating qualification" or update my resume worth a damn to save my life.

*headdesk*

It's not that I don't want to get paid to write. I just ... you know Mrs. Jennings in Sense and Sensibility, and how Marianne and Brandon are doing just fine and then she steps in and get all irritating and they break apart because she's that annoying? My mother is like that with job listings.

I think your mother and mine must be relatives. I get the job thing from her all the time and I have a job, just not one to her liking. To her credit, she thinks she's helping, but really--not so much.
