Dear parental units,

I don't know what's brought on the sudden influx of short jokes at my expense, but you'd think I suddenly decided to stop at five feet, two inches just for the hell of it. After all, it's not like I'm off siphoning the contents out of somebody else's gene pool, okay? *grumbles*

I used to get hit with short jokes all the time. Then I got myself a pair of Skechers shoes and came a few inches over my mom's head, so they stopped. As an added bonus, I've since gotten an inch on her the natural way, which is helpful. Also, Skechers are very good for kicking people.

Short jokes are just sad; you know what's even more annoying? The fact we short arses get taken less seriously all round, and are actually less likely to get a promotion etc. because in people's minds taller people are better, just because there's more of them.

If it weren't your parents, I'd tell you to snark back with "Well, I have to be short. It's the only way I'd ever look up to you." when someone made a short joke.

However, it's your parents. Can't help you there. Although seriously? I think you got all the cool humor and storytelling ability. Which means you've gotta be a blast at parties!

i'm rather short too. though I never realized it until I spent more time with people outside of my family. I'm kinda TALL in my family actually but...no. I'm short.
