All right, look, I spoiled myself a bit for the premiere. Not totally, but I had a pretty good idea that if John didn't die, he was at least, you know, going to slip into a coma or something and be stuck that way and the boys would have to defeat the demon to get him out of him or ... I was just trying to be hopeful, I guess. Look, I knew it was coming and yet I really, really wish they'd STOP KILLING JEFF, GODDAMN IT. How the hell am I supposed to watch him every week if the writers on his shows keep bumping him off? There's only so many reruns I can handle, for fuck's sake.

Although I will give them all credit for being in interviews saying, "Oh, we love Jeff! He's going to be in every episode next season! And stand in the background of other shows holding up a sign that says, 'Watch Supernatural Thursdays on the CW!' And cater the sets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! And make all the costumes! And rebuild the Impala using the powers of his own mind! He's going to live on set from now on and everything. We're building him a gigantic doghouse but for PEOPLE, and it'll have a big bowl for his food and a nice warm blanket and when we leave the set we'll turn on the radio so he'll have something to listen to! We're never letting Jeff go EVER. Not even in the bathroom."

Yeah, subtle, gang. Real subtle.

(And yeah, I know about Shonda Rhimes putting him on her new show, but still.)

Two: I spent an hour and a half on the computer with a friend of mine who only just saw his first episode. Yes, last night's show. Bless him and nearly 15 years of friendship. He let me bawl.

I have to give Kripke kudos. Mark was able to figure almost everything out from the recap at the beginning. As for next week, I think that may be the second episode ever where I've gotta watch with a light on. *shudders* I hate clowns.
