I totally and completely agree with you. Actually, when I came across the spoilers for 2x09 I thought even more how much Dean loves his brother in a non-wanna-fuck-you-in-the-ass way and how much he would STILL lay down his life for him. I defintely wait until after the show to start with the incestuous brotherfucking thoughts.

Oh, wordy mcword. In fact, I had this precise rant last week after the season premier:

A dear friend of mine was complaining today that she found Supernatural fandom a turn off because it's All About the Wincest, a cup of tea that is not to her particular taste. And I get her point of view, but if she was in my fandom today, she'd see that there's a hell of a lot more to it than people jonesing over interpreting plotlines so that naked brothers can fuck like mad minks (bonus points to anyone who gets THAT ancient slash reference). I've not seen one single person on my friendslist say, "And as Sam was hovering over Dean's broken body he wished Dean would get well so that they could have lots and lots of sex." And okay, that's a simplistic view, but I think it's equally simplistic to believe that fans view the entire show through Wincest-coloured glasses.
