Hyundai actually is really good for working with people who have shoddy credit, AND they have a 10 year bumper-to-bumper warranty. They might want a grand down and will definitely attach a higher interest rate to you, but they have 6 year, 7 year, whatever, payment plans.
If you go the used car route, set up a PayPal account for the "Buy trollprincess a car fund". I would definitely toss a few bucks your way, and as you have a billion friends on your list, it shouldn't take that long to buy yourself something safe & reliable. Because frankly, an LJ without a happy trollprincess is not a happy LJ...
