Cases in point ...

Oh, Betty. You're awesome. You quit, and I cheered.

You know, on one hand what Sofia did was low and underhanded and she was a total bitch to do it on national television. On the other hand -- and I love Daniel to bits, because for all his womanizing he's a sweetheart underneath it all -- he was kind of asking for it. I'm on his side, though, especially because he didn't immediately turn around and get his father to fire her. It would have done wonders for her book sales, but Daniel's right. A good CEO wouldn't get rid of someone who could generate publicity like that.

And you know, I'm not rooting for Amanda with Daniel (okay, well, sometimes I am), but when Sofia stepped into that elevator and Amanda started whacking at her with her purse I haven't been that thrilled in days.

Christina in the strip club? GLEE. I'm touch-and-go with her, but when she's funny she's AWESOMELY funny.

The best had to be Betty interviewing Marc and Amanda, though. She's right -- they're superficial and they know it, but Marc puts her Wall of Shame up on his screensaver and Amanda kind of liked that Betty could get away with coming into work dressed like that even if she doesn't really like her. Honestly, that's the closest to true friendship either one of them gets and I could have easily drawn little red marker hearts all over my TV screen when Betty and Amanda smiled at one another before they left.

And Wilhelmina in love-mode wearing painted-on jeans and knee-high snakeskin boots is now in my Get Out of Heterosexuality Free card deck. ROWR.

*****

Oh, thank GOD. Now my hands can stop trembling. Heh.

And for the record, fic ideas I need to work on:

1. That thing about Sam feeling guilty when he surfs for porn on the internet? You just know Dean uses that to his advantage. Heh.
2. Warriors for evil in a future war against humanity? I can work with that. :) Of course, my brain immediately goes to its usual setting of, "What if the demons need these kids to fight for evil because they need to exist and the so-called good guys just don't get it?" I mean, let's face it. You can get rid of all the evil creatures on the planet, but you end up killing people like Lenore and letting people like the Benders live simply due to their humanity or lack thereof. I suppose I should say "humanness" more than "humanity" in that statement, since the "evil" creature in that comparison had way more humanity than the true humans.
3. Ava fic. Oh, my GOD, I loved her! How totally cute was she?! And now she's either possessed by a demon or kidnapped by something evil? GYAH.
4. Jo fic. Oh, shut up. I'll explain later.

Other stuff --

... The song playing in the roadhouse was By Divine Right's "Supernatural". I nearly died laughing when I heard that, because I always make sure that's one of the songs loaded onto a new MP3 player when I buy it and I was wondering if they'd ever play it.

... Ash calls the police "the fuzz" and drank Sam's beer as soon as he got up and walked away. Seriously, I want to KEEP him.

... Oh, Dean. Hey, that needs to be said at least once an episode.

... Okay, so here's what I was thinking about as I watched the episode. (From what we know.)

Sam -- Nursery fire, no dream visits from the Demon, still good
Max -- Nursery fire, no dreams visits from the Demon, turned bad (killed uncle and father)
Andy -- Nursery fire, no dream visits from the Demon, still good (killed Webber)
Webber -- No nursery fire, dream visits from the Demon, turned bad (killed doctor and biological mother)
Scott -- Nursery fire, dream visits from the Demon, still good (murdered before he could kill anyone)
Ava -- No nursery fire, no dream visits from the Demon, status questionable (possibly killed her fiance)

See, that's the thing. We've seen Sam kill things -- creatures, evil beings, whatever -- but he's never actually gone that far with a human. I think ... I keep trying to remember his actions directly leading to the death of someone other than Jess and Mary -- both of whom may have been killed because of his existence and nothing more which might be just enough to fudge it with Bloody Mary -- and I'm coming up with nothing. Oh, sure, threaten Sammy in front of Dean and it is ON, but seriously? I have this suspicion that by the end of the season we're going to find out that what seals the Demon's hold on someone is their commission of a mortal sin (like, oh, say, murder) juuuuuust in time for Sam to have to kill someone.

Aaaaaand then everything will go REALLY downhill.

... Okay, the secret John whispered to Dean was ... well, pretty much what we've already figured out on a very basic level. "Kill him if you just can't protect him anymore." Warriors in a future war, etc.

The warriors thing just woke up my Terminator muse, damn it. *headsmack*

... How is it that in an episode where Jo was just mentioned, I now love her way more than I did before? She did exactly what I wanted her to do as a character. You want to be a hunter? Fine. You've shown us you can handle the research and the asskicking. Don't fight with your mom about it, don't tag along after Dean and Sam. You are a grown woman. Pack your car and GO.

And that's why I want to write Jo fic now -- because now that she's gone she's suddenly become interesting. Go figure.

... Sam's excuses were the best ever. "I watched a lot of TJ Hooker"?! What, in reruns on TV Land? Seriously, could you imagine the shit Dean must have subjected Sam to over the years? My dad and I once got into long involved discussions about what we thought happened to Ginger in the radioactive seeds episode of Gilligan's Island. (My dad's theory was that she ate radioactive green beans and they put hair on your chest. Which ... BWAHAHAHAHA.) And my relatives used to put on Golden Girls reruns on the holidays. If anybody knows how Sammy must feel when Dean steals the remote and puts on reruns of the Match Game, I do.

... Is it wrong that I want the wallpaper Sam had in his Indiana motel room? It's a disco ball! It's blue M&Ms! It's the back of the mirror from Romper Room repeated over and over in square footage! YOU DON'T KNOW.

Dean: "Bitch."
Sam: "Jerk."
Me: "AWWWWW."
Pervy Me: "Look, pet names!"

Next week: Haunted hotel. Dean has an excuse to use the Jack Nicholson impression again. :)

Later on when Grey's Anatomy goes up on the ABC website I'm totally watching, if only because I caught the last couple of minutes after SPN was over and you know that Alex-knocks-up-Addison plotbunny I had? Look at the near-making-out and Addison talking about wanting a baby in the previews and tell me I can avoid writing that now.

Ava rocked. I can't believe how much I like her compared to Jo. I still want Jo to stay gone or die in Offscreenville, however. Unless they get Eliza Dushku or someone similar to come back as Jo in a couple of seasons, then I'm so there. But someone will seriously have to talk to Kripke about the incestuous vibe he has a fondess for with Dean and his "little sister" and Dean&Sammy. Not that I mind, though :)

Seriously, Ava was great. The show is completely capable of coming up with genuine likable female love-interests. What on earth were they doing with Jo?

Er. I forget. Are you a Jo fan and here I am posting away like this about Jo?

Totally random, but i JUST posted an eljay post using the phrase "Cases in Point."

Primarily because one of my co-workers always says "Case in Points" and it makes me want to throttle her.

Re: Supernatural
See, the whole time Dean was gagged and Gordon was talking to him? Jensen was totally playing the intention of "Dear, Sweet, butt-fucking CHRIST, I WILL develop heat-ray vision, I WILL develop heat-ray vision, I will I WILL I WILL." And yet, Gordon did not burst into flame. It was sad for Dean, but fun for me. ;D

The rest of the episode I spent scrawling "Mrs. Sid Supernatural" all over my Trapper Keeper. My love for this show is a frightening thing.

By the by, check your e-mail lately?

Dude. Almost forgot.

In RL, Alex has like five kids. Friend of mine saw him on Oprah. I'm thinking he would so make a good dad with Addison!

I like Jo, just not as a love interest. She kept acting way younger than she was supposed to be (from the sound of it she's about twenty or so but she kept behaving a good five years younger) and I could barely see Dean having a one-night stand with her at this point.

Dude, when nine o'clock came I was sitting in my butterfly chair with a cold Smirnoff in one hand and a baked potato for dinner. I was prepared to not leave that chair for an hour. Heh.

(Yup, I've just been all flaily all afternoon so I haven't gotten to answer emails or comments or anything all day. Now that I can breathe again, I'm on it. :))

Wasn't the song in the Roadhouse Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole"? Cause I was singing along, had in fact just listened to it earlier today, and I've never heard of the song you named... unless that song was first and I just forget it. *scratches head confusedly*

What you say about Jo is very true! Also, someone else suggested that SHE is in fact Gordon's informant - either way, she's far more complex in her absence! lmao. I hope they DO more with her character. Ditto Ash, because while he's still awesomesauce, he's just so CONVENIENT, and that's it. I want him to go on a hunt dammit! :P

DEAN CARESSED SAM'S CHEEK.

I'm sorry, I can't get over that :D

I could have sworn it was "Supernatural," but then again I could be wrong. I was a little busy going, "OMG, ASH!" and squealing. Ash makes me happycakes. :)

I know! I really liked her. She had attitude and sense and a perky little accent.

And yes, much improvement with the Jo.

But personally I was going: lover of psychic kid slit across stomach. What's the next logical step for the demon, here? GET OUT BEFORE THE FIRE, DUDES.

I really hope that this next one is gonna be fun, though. Like, "Hell House" fun. I'm SO SICK of the angst and the plot. Seriously. Like, I know we need them, I love watching the boys pretend not to be sad and all, but can we have a break, please?

P. S. Hardcore Hunter is not selling me. I was not intimidated, I was not scared (not even for the boys, let alone myself), I just found myself going, "Bitch, please. And while you're at it, how about selling me that you actually mean any of what you're spouting. P.S. Yeah, you're gonna get Sam to shoot you by reminding him Dean's there and Dean doesn't think he's a monster." I was either disgusted or amused by him and his monologuing the whole damn time.

I think Jo is going to turn out to be Gordon's people at the roadhouse. Not intentionally, maybe, but she was awfully pissed at Dean the last time we saw her, and she has a quasi-canonical sekrit friendship with Gordon.

Personally, I think it'd make her way more interesting than she was as a hunter wannabe with a crush...

I don't think Eva was one of the "special" kids, but your old garden variety black-eyed demon. Sam has proven he's immune to possession (evil demon virus immunity) and bible-type stuff is always talking about the importance of free will. I think the kids have to be free to chose which side they will be on, hence no direct possession-style interference. Maybe mommy killing and fire setting don't count as direct interference.

And it would certainly make sense with the revelation about her father's death. She hasn't known the Winchesters as long as she's known Gordon, and just because Ellen admits to having gotten over it doesn't mean Jo has.

I still think the comment about "the Winchester boy" being immune to the virus wasn't in reference to Sam. It just seems odd to me that the Demon and his minions would know all of these things about Sam and the other kids like him, would have used this virus before, and didn't already know Sam was immune. DEAN, on the other hand ... he didn't catch it either, and I still wonder how a man could kill two people and carry at least one wounded body into and out of his car and not get blood on him.

I don't know if Ava was possessed, though. I wouldn't be surprised if she were, of course, but personally if she was I don't think it was until after she left Sam's company.

I drove past more Supernatural directional signs a couple of days ago.

I was really tempted to pull over and take pics of them for you, just to see your reaction... then to follow them to the set...

There's also Ash, though. He was acting kind of pissy and he had the information awfully fast, like he had it to begin with. Though I suppose that it could have been Jo that he gave it to, and she gave it to Gordon. Which would have made him grumpy because he wouldn't have dared tell Ellen about it. So it could be either/both. So we really know nothing. Which is kinda normal, really.

When Sam kills, it's always in a passive sort of way. He doesn't kill people, but he's allowed them to die ... he watched the preacher's wife die in Faith, which is ... a little morally grey, maybe.

You think so? I don't know. It could be possible that her whole point there was to keep Sam from getting himself offed. ...Although that wouldn't explain her dream. Shoot. I hate trying to stay a step ahead. It almost never happens.
