And instead I went to the local movie theater because, hey, turns out they're showing Pan's Labyrinth after all. I'll give Guillermo Del Toro credit -- the guy creates some awesome settings. The story intrigued me, too, although while I loved the movie there's something I can't put my finger on just now that was off about the whole thing. Maybe when I'm more awake I'll figure it out.

I went through the Ugly Betty icons [livejournal.com profile] zuppit made (which are awesome, and you should go look 'cause WHEEE) and had to boost this one because some guy at work the other day was selling candy bars and asked me if I wanted to buy one. When I said I wasn't hungry, he said, "What, are you one of those tiny little girls who doesn't eat anything?", and the redneck guy who works with me all the time said, "Are you kidding? This one's constantly eating something."

I wish I could argue that, but I currently have a big bag of Valentine's candy, Sugar Babies, cinnamon apple smidgens, pretzels, Cheetos, nachos, and potato chips on my computer desk.

Er, no wonder I forget to eat whole meals. I'm obviously Nervous Eater!Amanda ALL THE TIME. *headdesk*

Also, on the way home I was thinking through crackfic ideas for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang. Let's see, I had Real Men Don't Make Cheesecake futurefic from the other day, that AU during the Black Plague that I said I was going to write and never did, and mpreg (What? I've written every other crackfic in this fandom, right?). I'm going to end up coming up with something a week before the deadline and writing it in two days, aren't I? *sigh*

In other news, the editors at Bravo played around with the timeline on Top Chef -- those dumbasses shaved their heads AFTER they attacked Marcel. If anyone other than Marcel wins now, I'm swearing off this show. Give me goddamn Top Design already.

Hee. I can't remember if I said the thing about how I should just do angsty slashy crack futurefic where Dean disappears and the next time Sam sees him is on a commercial for the new season of Project Runway before or after you brought it up. :)

bwahaha, I have no idea.. but honestly, I'd rather see him on Top Chef or even better, guest starring with Alton Brown on either Good Eats or Iron Chef America.

*snickers* I'd love to see him on this season of Top Chef, although that's mostly to beat the crap out of all of the bullies. (So, everybody but Marcel, basically.)

A lot of people I know sort of get a bit thingy about Del Toro's moralising in his films and the sort of Catholic Black & Whiteness of judgements etc. But I find his storytelling and visual power is enough to override that when I'm watching his films.

I haven't seen Pan's yet, but I want to soon.

I saw Pan’s Labyrinth today, and I plan to post about it after I’ve let it roll around in my head a bit. I wish that the friends I planned to see it with had made it to the theater on time, because I dearly wanted to talk about the film and couldn’t without spoiling it for them.
